Clinical context

In Sepsis-3, an acute SOFA increase of ≥2 points in a patient with suspected infection is used in the clinical definition of sepsis. SOFA-1 does not by itself diagnose sepsis and is not an individual mortality prediction. Interpret the score in clinical context.
