Pediatric Glasgow Coma Scale (pGCS)

Used to assess the level of consciousness in children aged 2 years and under. For those older than 2 years, use the standard Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS).

Clinical context

In intubated children, verbal response cannot be directly tested. Document the score with a "T" suffix (for example, E2 M5 = 7T) and trend changes over time. Interpret scores in clinical context and alongside airway/ventilation status.
